Health Sector Training

One of the issues that upsets me is the lack of understanding within government buildings regarding the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and the inadequate support for people with disabilities. The NDIS does not cover all aspects, and I believe that it should cater to every single Australian, especially since individuals with disabilities often require health services more frequently.

Disability training and knowledge, particularly about the NDIS, are frequently lacking in medical training and competencies. By fostering a better understanding of how the disability sector operates—specifically regarding the NDIS, care providers, their roles, and the needs of people with disabilities—we can provide better service. This would allow patients to leave hospitals sooner and in better condition than when they arrived.

This approach is more practical than ideological, with real-world applications aimed at raising the competency and service levels within the healthcare sector.
